There is one very effective way to make children think positively, you have to show them positive thinking by example, when they face self doubt in the development stages.
You can identity this stages when a children is always comparing themselves with other friends and they see themselves unable to achieve or to try what they friends can do.
However those examples represent general characteristics, because those can be applied to a different number of life situation at home, at school with friends. Its important to teach positive thinking by example and comparison, since very young children are inclined to copy their parents.
We face a lot of negative situation in our world, our children can benefit a lot from acquiring positive atitudes, that will keep thme in the right mindset. If you do this when your children are young and developing their personality, the effects will be great for him to adopt a positive mind.
If you see that your children is making negative responses to everyday situations, that is the best time to counter with positive thinking alternatives. Let see some examples:
If he tells you, "Mom, I cant do this", tell hime that you have faith in him and to give it another try. If he says that he cant understand a science, tell him that you were in the same situation as him years ago, but you made it, you can really do it if you try it.
If he tells you that he is not good at tennis that he lost the game, tell him that is difficult to do it well the first time, remember when you couldnt ride a bike and then you did it? you can do it.
Dont think that you child will develop positive thinking on their own, you can to teach him, show him examples and tell him how you did it. You can also find a book that will help you or better yet give it to your child to read.
